I’m back in England, back at work! But, above all, I’M BACK!!!
InterNations 17 July, 2008
I’m getting the hang of it! At first I had a bit of a hard time to find stuff, but now I find it easy. It is much better than that Star Tracker thing. They are 2 very different sites, actually. ST is for Portuguese people who are NOT in Portugal, Internations is for expats from around the world. ST has a lot of people who never even left their parents house, much less lived in another country… Besides, I know a lot of Portuguese people and don’t really need to know much more. I’m in an international city, I want to know international people. I have no need or wish to know ALL the Portuguese people who are living/working in London. I don’t mind knowing and hanging out with a few. But the reason why I have contact with them is because they are people I like, who are my friends, not because I’m Portuguese and need to eat bacalhau (cod)! At IN I can meet other expats who are living in London and “colleagues” from my company who are working in another country whom I never met (and probably never will). ST is too restrictive, I don’t really like it. Besides, some people there are really arrogant!
Work 15 July, 2008
I did a presentation today and it went really well! I’m HAPPY!!!
Unfortunately, this also means that I’m going back to making reactions… Which are a lot more time consuming than what I’ve been doing for the past 4 days. Life isn’t perfect, but I like mine!
Blogging 8 July, 2008
Haven’t been blogging much, I know. Fortunately, no-one reads this, so no-one complains or misses it, really. I’m not going to give up on this blog as it is mainly a way for me to write a bit in English. My real blog is the Portuguese one, I do LOVE that blog. I guess that has to do with the fact that I know that people will not read what I write here and therefore, what’s the point of writing it?!
Sick 5 July, 2008
I’m still coughing, I have a runny nose and I hate being sick. I’m so fed up!
I’m watching House’s 2nd season.

Tomorrow I’m poping out to London after work. I’m meeting my good old friend Catarina whom I haven’t seen in a couple of years (at the very least). She’s my crazy friend! She is!! Absolutely insane! She’s lived in the UK, than she moved to Mexico and now she’s going to Portugal to take care of some personal stuff and then either go to Barcelona or come to London. She has been doing some courses and working here and there. Makes enough to live but is easily bankrupt. I wonder how can she do it and for how long does she think she can do this…
We met when we were fifteen, but didn’t become real friends until we were 17. It was the year before going to Uni but we partied a LOT. She didn’t finished her A-levels and I went to Uni. During my first year at Uni we hardly saw each other, but I made sure we remade contact during my second year. And then a lot of work drowned me and she moved country… I can hardly wait to hear all her stories and see how she looks.
Can distance and time destroy a friendship? I guess I’ll find out tomorrow. 5:30 at Paddington.
